Sabour/Patna:The Startup Cell of Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, has achieved a significant milestone by securing the second position in the latest rankings of startup centres released by the Ministry of Industry, Government of Bihar. The rankings, published in April, assessed 46 startup centres across the state and recognised BAU’s consistent dedication to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector.
Vice-Chancellor D. R. Singh highlighted that this accomplishment reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to promoting innovation in agriculture. He expressed optimism that the recognition would further inspire efforts to transform Bihar into a thriving hub for agricultural startups and innovation-driven development.
The Startup Cell’s success has been largely driven by its leadership team, including Dr. Anil Kumar Singh, who serves as both Research Director and Nodal Officer. His strategic vision, along with the dedicated support of Faculty Incharge Dr. Neetu Kumari and Startup Coordinator Megha Kumari, has enabled the cell to nurture entrepreneurship in key areas such as sustainable agriculture, agri-processing, biotechnology, and smart farming.
The cell offers a wide range of support to young entrepreneurs, farmers, and agribusinesses by providing mentorship, technical guidance, and financial assistance. “We are bridging the gap between agricultural research and entrepreneurship,” said Dr. Anil Kumar Singh. With this support, aspiring entrepreneurs are increasingly able to convert innovative ideas into successful agri-business ventures, reinforcing the cell’s goal of positioning Bihar as a national leader in sustainable farming and agri-business innovation.
