Bhagalpur Farmers Embrace Innovation at MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav

Bhagalpur: In a notable boost for Bihar’s agricultural sector, the MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav 2024 took centre stage in Bhagalpur on Monday, at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. The event, spearheaded by Krishi Jagran and supported by Mahindra Tractors, Somani Seeds, and JCB, aimed to enhance farmer incomes through cutting-edge agricultural practices.
Over 250 farmers gathered for the day-long event, which showcased the latest in farming technology and innovations. Exhibits featured new tractors and agricultural machinery from Mahindra and JCB, alongside advanced seed varieties from Somani Seeds. Attendees had the opportunity to explore these technologies firsthand, engaging in detailed discussions about their benefits and costs.
The event was graced by key figures in agriculture, including Anil Kumar Pandav, Assistant Director of Horticulture, and Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Senior Scientist at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, among others. They provided valuable insights and shared the message of Dr. DR Singh, Vice Chancellor of Bihar Agricultural University, who underscored the significance of modernizing agricultural practices.
A highlight of the day was the recognition of Bhagalpur’s progressive farmers. Certificates were awarded to those who have made substantial contributions to agriculture, celebrating their innovative approaches and success.
The MFOI Samridh Kisan Utsav also spotlighted the Millionaire Farmer of India (MFOI) initiative, designed to honour farmers who earn over Rs. 10 lakh annually and inspire their peers with their innovative practices. This national recognition aims to elevate the profile of successful farmers on both a national and international stage, marking a significant step towards modernizing India’s agricultural landscape.
