Bhagalpur: Intermediate Student Gang-Raped, Four Arrested

Bhagalpur: In a shocking incident near Kahalgaon station in Bhagalpur, Bihar, a young woman was gang-raped by five youths on Tuesday night. The assailants tied up her boyfriend before committing the crime in a secluded area behind platform number two (Jungle Bagan).
After receiving an alert via Dial 112, police rushed to the scene and admitted the victim to a sub-divisional hospital. Acting swiftly, officers arrested four of the five accused within four hours. The victim and her boyfriend have identified them, while police are conducting search operations for the fifth suspect.
Following a complaint from the victim’s mother, a resident of the Kahalgaon police station area, a case has been registered under the POCSO Act and gang rape charges.
According to reports, the intermediate student lived in a rented house in Kahalgaon for her studies. She had developed a relationship with a boy from Darbhanga via social media, who had traveled to Bhagalpur to meet her.
On Tuesday morning, the couple met, and later that night, after getting off at Kahalgaon station, they were walking towards the rented house when five men began following them.
The assailants intercepted the couple, questioned the boy about his home and identity, and then tied his hands and legs with a towel. They then took the girl aside and raped her in turns after gagging her mouth.
Despite being restrained, the boy managed to alert the police via Dial 112 on his mobile phone. By the time authorities arrived, the attackers had fled.
Manhunt Launched for Remaining Accused
With four accused already in custody, police have intensified efforts to locate and arrest the fifth suspect. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether the assailants had prior criminal records.
