Bhagalpur: Authorities in Sanhaula are ramping up preparations ahead of the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit to Bhagalpur on February 24. Various departments of the block are engaged in an extensive cleanliness campaign to ensure a clean environment for the high-profile visit.
On Tuesday, Block Development Officer and Circle Officer led by example, initiating the campaign by personally sweeping the block premises. The initiative has been extended across all panchayats in the region, with large-scale sanitation drives currently underway.
Officials have called upon panchayat representatives, village headmen, committee members, and social workers to actively participate in the campaign. Efforts are being made to ensure a long-term impact, rather than just a temporary facelift for the Prime Minister’s visit.
The campaign also includes rangoli competitions, handwashing awareness drives, and a user charge collection initiative. Local residents are being encouraged to contribute to sanitation efforts by paying the required fee to maintain cleanliness in their communities.
Authorities hope the initiative will foster ongoing public participation, ensuring that the cleanliness efforts continue beyond the scheduled visit and contribute to a healthier living environment for the region.
