Bihar: 4 Miscreants Arrested For Stone-Throwing on Rajdhani Express at Samastipur Junction
Samastipur – On Monday night, an act of mischief occurred at Samastipur Junction when an unknown individual hurled a stone at the Rajdhani Express train, resulting in the shattering of glass in one of the bogies and an injury to a passenger. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) promptly responded to the incident, arresting four individuals engaged in the act.
RPF Inspector Ved Prakash Verma filed a First Information Report (FIR) against all the accused. Following their presentation in the Railway Court on Monday, relatives and children of the accused staged protests against their detention, leading to a temporary blockade of the railway track by sleeping in front of the train.
The incident occurred as the train number 20503 Rajdhani Express, traveling from Dibrugarh to New Delhi, arrived on platform number one of the junction on Monday evening. According to sources, the stone-throwing incident arose from an altercation among individuals under the influence of intoxicants.
The broken glass in train bogie number B 11 injured Santosh Chhatri, occupying berth number 66, causing bleeding to his head. Dr. Deepak Kumar from the Railway Hospital, along with a medical team, promptly reached the scene to provide necessary treatment to the injured passenger.
The Carriage Department also acted swiftly to repair the damaged window, causing a delay of approximately 25 minutes in the train’s schedule.
RPF ASI Ajay Kumar, on duty in the train bogie, reported the incident to the inspector. The RPF inspector, along with his team, conducted a raid in the railway yard, apprehending four intoxicated individuals near the New Scrap Yard wall. The arrested individuals were identified as Alha Nat (25), Ketu Nat (22), Kalia Nat (23), and Devanand Nat (27), residents of Malgodam Chowk in the Nagar police station area. The RPF confiscated the stones used in the incident and filed an FIR against all the culprits.
The team involved in the operation included Inspector Ved Prakash Verma, Sub Inspector PK Chaudhary, ASI SK Tiwari, Ajay Kumar, Constable Sangeet Kumar Raju, Rajesh Kumar, Ramnath, and Kanhaiya Kumar.
