Bihar Agricultural University Student’s Startup Among Top 25 in National Ideathon

Sabour: A student-led agricultural startup from Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, has secured a place among the Top 25 Challengers in the national College Youth Ideathon, a competition jointly organized by the Management Entrepreneurship Professional Skills Council (MEPSC), IIT Delhi, and ThinkStartup.
VEROPONIK, founded by Prafull Kumar, a second-year BSc (Hons.) Agriculture student, aims to develop sustainable, technology-driven agricultural solutions. His venture was nurtured by BAU’s Startup Cell, an initiative supported by the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar. Through this program, Kumar received entrepreneurial training and a grant of Rs 4 lakh under the Student Entrepreneurship Scheme of RKVY-RAFTAR, a Ministry of Agriculture initiative.
BAU Vice Chancellor Dr Anil Kumar Singh hailed the achievement as a testament to the talent and innovation fostered at the university. He reaffirmed BAU’s commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs and advancing agricultural research. Dr Anil Kumar Singh, the university’s Director of Research and Principal Investigator of the Sabour Agri Business Incubation (SABAGRIs), praised the university’s incubation ecosystem, which has played a crucial role in supporting promising startups.
The recognition of VEROPONIK highlights the rising entrepreneurial spirit among agricultural students and reinforces BAU’s standing as a hub for agribusiness innovation.
