Bihar: AIIMS Patna Marks World Cancer Awareness Week with Nukad Natak Event
Patna – The Department of Radiation Oncology at AIIMS-Patna is actively engaging in a series of events to raise awareness about cancer as part of the World Cancer Awareness Week.
On January 30 (Tuesday), the Department organized an awareness program in celebration of World Cancer Day. The event featured a compelling Nukad Natak (street play) in the OPD foyer, with enthusiastic participation from nursing students who presented a poignant play focusing on cervical cancer.
The distinguished presence of Chief Executive Director of AIIMS-Patna, Dr. (Prof) G.K.Pal, Deputy Director Nilotpal Bal, and Dr. Prem Kumar (Dean Academic) added significance to the program. Faculty members from other departments, including Dr. Sanjeev Kumar (CTVS Department), Dr. Veena Kumari (Burn & Plastic Surgery Department), and Dr. Kamlesh Jha (Physiology Department), also attended the event.
Pritanjali Singh, Head of the Radiation Oncology Department, elucidated the theme of World Cancer Day during the program. Dr. Harikesh Bahadur Singh provided valuable insights into common cancers prevalent in India, emphasizing the importance of early detection and prevention. Dr. Nilesh Mani shared crucial information about the signs and symptoms of cancer and the facilities available at AIIMS-Patna.
The event was a collaborative effort, with active participation from senior residents, junior residents, and department staff who played key roles in organizing and conducting the awareness program.
