Bihar: Attack on Police Team in West Champaran; Inspector’s Hand Fractured, Female Constable Injured
BAGAHA – A police team responding to a bike theft report came under attack from the accused in Harnatand village under Laukariya police station.
Sub-Inspector Ramanand Sah sustained injuries to his hand, and a female constable was wounded. Both received treatment, and the accused has been arrested. The investigation confirmed alcohol consumption by the accused. The Station House Officer, Ram Anand Sah, stated that the accused has been sent to jail after filing a case against him.
In this case, Bakuli resident Sandeep Kumar reported to the police on Sunday night that Motilal from Harnatand stole his bike and took it to his house. Subsequently, Sub Inspector Sah arrived with a female constable at Motilal’s house and conducted a search.
The accused, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, resisted police entry at home. During the scuffle, he attacked the female constable with bamboo, injuring her and causing the sub-inspector’s hand to fracture. Other officers apprehended the suspect, conducted a search, and recovered a stolen bike. The accused, Motilal, was arrested, with medical tests confirming alcohol consumption.
