Bihar: BJP MP Rama Devi Accuses Lalu Yadav of Orchestrating Husband’s Death to Become CM
Patna, 18th October 2023: BJP Member of Parliament, Rama Devi, has leveled grave accusations against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav, stating that he orchestrated the killing of her husband, Brij Bihari Prasad, with the aim of ascending to the Chief Minister’s seat.
Accusations on Lalu Family’s Integrity
Addressing a public gathering in Gardnibagh, Patna, Rama Devi didn’t mince words. She claimed the entire Lalu family, including his wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi Yadav, are “on the hook” and out on bail. “The public knows how their money was misappropriated. Everyone is aware of the kind of scam the Lalu family has engaged in,” said the BJP MP.
Killing for Political Ascent
During her speech, Rama Devi emphasized that Lalu Yadav had her husband killed to eliminate a political rival and ease his path to the Chief Ministerial position. “After winning the seat from Motihari, we gave 12 years to RJD. Lalu thought this would make us Chief Minister, so he got my husband killed,” she stated.
Women’s Rights and Political Context
Rama Devi also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for respecting women and passing bills in their favor. In contrast, she said the Lalu family only knows how to respect the women within their household. “I am enough to answer these people,” she added, suggesting that she would continue to challenge the Lalu family’s actions.
It’s worth noting that Brij Bihari Prasad was shot dead on June 13, 1998. The infamous contract killer Shri Prakash Shukla was charged in the murder case at the time.
