Bihar Matriculation Exams Begin Today With Strict Guidelines

Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will conduct the Inter and Matric Special and Compartmental Examinations starting May 2, with over 1.14 lakh students expected to appear across the state. The exams will be conducted at 251 centres under tight surveillance and strict guidelines to ensure smooth and fair proceedings.

According to BSEB officials, 52,390 students have registered for the Inter Special and Compartmental Exams, while 62,273 students will appear for the Matric Special and Compartmental Exams.

Inter Exams to Be Held at 110 Centers

The Inter exams will be held at 110 examination centres. Of the total candidates, 6,628 have registered for the Special Exam and 45,762 for the Compartmental Exam. In Patna district alone, five centres have been arranged for 3,001 candidates.

On May 2, the first shift (9:30 AM to 12:45 PM) will feature the Hindi exam for Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. The second shift (2:00 PM to 5:15 PM) will include Biology for Science, History for Arts, and English for vocational students. Practical exams will follow from May 14 to 15, with the theory exams concluding on May 13.

Each student will be given an additional 15 minutes to read the question paper before writing. Candidate photos and essential details will be pre-printed on both the OMR sheet and the answer booklet.

Matric Exams at 141 Centers

The Matric Special and Compartmental exams will see 7,621 students appear for the Special Exam and 54,652 for the Compartmental Exam. A total of 141 centers have been set up, with seven centres in Patna for 2,954 students.

On the first day, the morning shift will cover Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, and Maithili under the mother tongue section, while the afternoon session will include Sanskrit, Hindi, Arabic, Persian, and Bhojpuri as second Indian language subjects. These exams will conclude on May 7.

Tight Security, Zero Tolerance for Misconduct

BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore emphasized that multiple security measures have been put in place to avoid malpractices and overcrowding. All candidates are required to report to their exam centres one hour before the scheduled time.

  • First shift entry: From 8:30 AM; gates close at 9:00 AM
  • Second shift entry: From 1:00 PM; gates close at 1:30 PM

 

Strict disciplinary action has been announced for rule violations. “Any candidate caught entering the examination centre by jumping over the boundary wall or forcefully breaking in will be expelled for two years and an FIR will be filed,” said Kishore.

The board has urged all students to follow the rules, arrive on time, and maintain decorum to ensure a fair and peaceful exam environment.
