Bihar Board Toppers Honored in Patna with Cash Prizes, Laptops, and Medals

Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board celebrated “Medha Diwas” 2024 at Gyan Bhavan, Patna, commemorating the birth anniversary of India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Toppers of the 2024 Matriculation and Intermediate examinations were honored, along with District Magistrates from 10 districts for conducting fair examinations. Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar presented the awards.

A total of 51 Matriculation toppers from the top 10 ranks and 24 Intermediate toppers from the top 5 ranks across Science, Arts, and Commerce were felicitated. First-rank holders received Rs 1 lakh, a laptop, and a medal. Notable recipients included Shivankar Kumar (Matriculation), Mrityunjay Kumar (Science), Tushar Kumar (Arts), and Priya Kumari (Commerce). Second and third-rank holders received Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively, along with laptops. Students ranked fourth to 10th in Matriculation received Rs 10,000, while fourth and fifth-rank holders in Intermediate received Rs 15,000, certificates, medals, and laptops.

District Magistrates and District Education Officers from Bhojpur, East Champaran, Darbhanga, Gaya, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Patna, Purnia, and Vaishali were also honored for conducting malpractice-free exams.

Toppers expressed pride and joy at receiving the recognition. Mrityunjay Kumar, the Science topper, said he is currently preparing for the civil services. Priya Kumari, the Commerce topper, shared her ambitions of becoming a Chartered Accountant. Shivankar Kumar, the Matriculation topper, expressed gratitude for the laptop, which will aid in his studies. Education Minister Sunil Kumar congratulated the students and highlighted the initiative’s success since its inception in 2017 under the vision of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
