Bihar Cabinet Approves Development of New Industrial Zones in 31 Districts
Patna: Bihar has marked the beginning of a new industrial revolution, with the State Cabinet on Friday granting in-principle approval for the development of new industrial zones across 31 districts.
Currently, the Bihar Industrial Development Authority (BIADA) has established 9 clusters and 84 Industrial Areas/Development Centers, spanning 7,592.39 acres. However, only 1,861.03 acres remain available for allotment.
“Given the state’s continuous industrial growth, there was a recognized need for additional industrial areas to accommodate new industries. Today, under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership, the State Cabinet has approved the development of new industrial zones in 31 districts of Bihar,” said Industries Minister Nitish Mishra.
The Minister further claimed that the new industrial areas will be strategically located near national and state highways to ensure convenient traffic access. Additionally, industrial zones will be established prominently in seven districts that currently lack such areas. Land acquisition for these developments will proceed based on requirements.
“This is indeed a significant day, marking the start of a new era of industrial revolution in Bihar. This decision by the State Cabinet, under the able leadership of CM Nitish, will lead to the establishment of industrial areas in every district of Bihar, thereby boosting investment and creating employment opportunities,” added Minister Mishra.
