Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Clarifies Statements on Relations with BJP leaders
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed the controversy surrounding his statements on his relationship with BJP leaders on Saturday. Responding to journalists’ questions on the sidelines of an event held in Patna to mark the birth anniversary of the first Chief Minister of Bihar, late Shri Krishna Singh, Nitish clarified that his statements had been misconstrued and taken out of context.
Nitish dismissed the ongoing political debates and controversies, emphasizing that his primary concern was the progress and well-being of Bihar.
The Bihar CM explained that during the recently held first convocation of the Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Motihari, he had raised the issue of constructing a Central University in the Champaran region, which holds historical significance due to its association with Mahatma Gandhi. He initially received assurance for this project. However, after a year, the plan was redirected to Gaya, leading to the creation of a Central University there.
Nitish stressed that he had always prioritized development and educational initiatives for the state of Bihar. He clarified that his previous statements, made during the program in Motihari, were aimed at highlighting the importance of such projects for the region.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister emphasized that his government’s actions were driven by a commitment to the welfare of the people of Bihar. He dismissed allegations of political motives in his actions and decisions.
Responding to questions about senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, Nitish said they had worked together in the past and supported each other during their respective political careers. He recounted the history of their collaboration and noted that political dynamics have shifted over the years.
The Bihar CM expressed his dedication to working for Bihar’s betterment and asserted that he would continue to focus on developmental projects and the welfare of the state’s residents. He encouraged the public to evaluate the work undertaken by his government objectively and consider the significant achievements made during his tenure.
Nitish highlighted the state government’s commitment to good governance, pointing out the punctuality of government officials and their strong work ethic in the service of the state.
