Bihar Chief Secretary Among Five Senior IAS Officers Set to Retire in 2025

Patna: Five senior IAS officers from the Bihar cadre, including Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena and Additional Chief Secretary S Siddharth, are set to retire this year. Two of these officers are currently on central deputation, while the remaining three hold key positions in Bihar’s administration.

Chief Secretary Amritlal Meena’s Tenure Ends in August

Bihar Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, a 1989-batch IAS officer, will retire on August 31. Known for his sharp administrative acumen, Meena has been actively reviewing development projects across the state. In recent months, he has traveled to various districts to assess ongoing infrastructure work and has chaired high-level project review meetings.

Additional Chief Secretary S Siddharth to Retire in November

Dr. S Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department and a 1991-batch IAS officer, will retire on November 30. A well-recognized figure in Bihar’s bureaucracy, Siddharth is known for his no-nonsense approach and efficiency in governance. His tenure in the education department has kept him in the spotlight, with his straightforward style and decision-making often making headlines.

Chaitanya Prasad to Exit in July

Another prominent name on the retirement list is Chaitanya Prasad, a 1990-batch IAS officer, who will step down on July 31. Currently serving as Chief Vigilance Commissioner in the General Administration Department, Prasad has held key portfolios in the Urban Development, Home, and Water Resources departments. He has also served as Development Commissioner.
