Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Announces Ara Ring Road, Lays Foundation for Rs 406 Crore Development Projects in Bhojpur

Ara/ Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 307 infrastructure projects worth over Rs 406 crore in Bhojpur district as part of his Pragati Yatra. During his visit to Ara, he announced several key initiatives, including the construction of a ring road, road widening projects, a stormwater drainage system, and the development of government buildings and tourist sites.
The projects aim to ease traffic congestion, enhance connectivity, and improve civic infrastructure. CM Nitish inspected the proposed Ara Ring Road and directed officials to expedite work, highlighting its significance in decongesting the city. The initiative includes the construction of two new roads and the widening of four existing routes.

The Ara-Baburah-Chapra road will also be widened to improve connectivity between Bhojpur and Saran districts. Additionally, a new road will be built along the canal dam from Sandesh via Akhgaon to Koilwar, linking multiple blocks directly to JP Ganga Path and Patna.
A bypass from Ojhavaliya Bridge to Bachri Bridge on the Bihiya-Jagdishpur-Piro-Sikarhata route is expected to ease congestion in Piro and nearby areas. Further, the road from Bihiya Chaurasta to NH-922 will be widened, and a new rural road from Chandwa via Gangi to Dharhara will enhance connectivity.
Urban Infrastructure and Tourism Development
To tackle waterlogging in Ara, an outfall drain and sump house will be constructed under the stormwater drainage system. A drainage channel will also be built from New Police Line to MP Bagh Mor.
The Surya Mandir complex in Dev village, Tarari block, will be beautified, and a museum will be constructed to boost tourism.
New Government Buildings
New block-cum-zonal office buildings will be built in Ara Sadar, Udwantnagar, Koilwar, Charpokhari, Tarari, Piro, Bihiya, Shahpur, Sandesh, and Sahar to streamline administrative services.
CM Nitish reaffirmed his commitment to the district’s development, assuring that any pending or incomplete work would be expedited. He instructed officials to ensure timely completion of all projects, emphasizing their role in easing traffic, boosting economic activity, and enhancing public convenience.
