Nitish Kumar Distributes Appointment Letters to 6,837 Junior Engineers and Instructors

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today attended a ceremony here to distribute appointment letters to 6,837 newly appointed junior engineers and instructors. The event, held at ‘Samvad’ in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, saw CM Nitish symbolically handing over appointment letters to 10 candidates, while thousands of others received their letters through the distribution process.

A total of 6,341 junior engineers were appointed across various departments, alongside 496 instructors under the Labour Resources Department. Principal Secretary of the Water Resources Department, Santosh Kumar Mall, welcomed the Chief Minister with a bouquet.

A Milestone for Bihar’s Workforce

Speaking at the ceremony, CM Nitish expressed his satisfaction with the large-scale recruitment, emphasizing the government’s commitment to strengthening Bihar’s workforce. “It is a matter of great happiness that today, appointment letters are being provided to 6,837 junior engineers and instructors selected by various departments,” he said.

Among the newly appointed junior engineers, the Water Resources Department recruited 2,338 candidates, followed by the Planning and Development Department (1,273), the Rural Works Department (759), the Road Construction Department (530), the Minor Water Resources Department (484), the Public Health Engineering Department (478), the Building Construction Department (430), and the Urban Development and Housing Department (49).

Government’s Development Agenda

CM Nitish reiterated his administration’s focus on development and problem-solving through district visits. “We are visiting all districts of Bihar to assess problems and needs, and we will address them as soon as possible. Large-scale recruitment will continue, and vacant posts across departments are being identified,” he assured.

Reflecting on Bihar’s progress, Kumar remarked, “Before 2005, the condition of Bihar was very poor, as you all know. Since then, we have been working tirelessly to move the state forward, with support from the central government.” He urged the new appointees to diligently fulfill their responsibilities and contribute to the state’s progress.

Dignitaries in Attendance

The event was attended by senior ministers and officials, including Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Energy Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Rural Works Minister Ashok Chaudhary, Urban Development Minister Nitin Naveen, and Public Health Engineering Minister Neeraj Kumar Singh. Other dignitaries included Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister S. Siddharth, and several senior government officials.
