Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Inspects Maulana Azad Memorial Park in Patna, Calls for Timely Completion

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday inspected the under-construction Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Memorial Park on Nehru Path, calling for its timely completion ahead of Azad’s birth anniversary on November 11.

During his visit, CM Nitish reviewed the ongoing construction and instructed officials to ensure the park is ready in time. He emphasized the importance of commemorating Azad’s contributions to India’s independence and suggested that details of his life and work be inscribed on a plaque within the park to educate visitors. The Chief Minister also directed that the road behind the park be repaired to facilitate easy access for visitors.

Following his visit to the memorial park, Nitish inspected Nehru Park and reviewed its facilities. He also visited the site of the Bhagwan Birsa Munda statue on Hardinge Road.

Speaking to reporters after the inspections, Nitish highlighted the state’s efforts to honour Maulana Azad’s legacy. “We have done significant work in recognising Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s contributions, particularly in the field of education,” he said. “His statue will be installed here, and the park will serve as a space for people to learn about his life and achievements. In Bihar, we began celebrating Education Day on November 11, marking his birth anniversary.”

The park, once completed, will serve as a tribute to Azad, a prominent freedom fighter and India’s first education minister, whose vision laid the foundation for modern Indian education.
