Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reviewed construction work on the Patna Metro’s priority corridor, urging officials to ensure its timely completion by August 15.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday reviewed the progress of the Patna Metro Rail Project and urged officials to expedite the construction work, particularly along the priority corridor stretching from Malahi Pakadi to Pataliputra Bus Terminal.

Accompanied by top officials, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing work at Malahi Pakadi and Bhootnath metro stations. He was briefed on passenger amenities and technical infrastructure, including escalators, lifts, ticket counters and platform access points.

“We have consistently monitored this project to ensure smooth execution,” said CM Nitish. “This is a crucial step in transforming urban mobility in Patna. The metro must be completed on schedule for the convenience of citizens.”

The priority corridor spans 6.20 km and includes five stations—Malahi Pakadi, Khemnichak, Bhootnath Road, Zeromile and the Pataliputra Bus Terminal. Officials from the Urban Development and Housing Department informed the Chief Minister that the segment is expected to become operational by August 15. The state government has allocated Rs 115.10 crore towards its completion.

Urban Development Minister Jibesh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, and senior officials from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Patna Metro Rail Project were also present during the review.
