Nitish Kumar to Visit Munger on February 6, Lay Foundation Stones for ₹500 Crore Projects

Munger: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to visit Munger on February 6 as part of his Pragati Yatra. During his visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects worth approximately ₹500 crore. The district administration has undertaken extensive preparations for his arrival.

Inspections and Infrastructure Projects

Helipads are being constructed at Rishi Kund in Tarapur and Haveli Kharagpur blocks for the CM’s arrival. He is expected to inspect the Shivganga pond in Rangaon, Tarapur, and later conduct an aerial survey of development works at Rishi Kund in Haveli Kharagpur block.

As part of his visit, Kumar will inaugurate the newly constructed Panchayat Government Building in Charon village, Sadar block, where he will also interact with members of Jeevika, a women’s self-help group initiative. Additionally, he will inaugurate the new building of Munger Sadar Hospital and oversee the beautification work at Raja Rani Talab.

Security and Preparations

According to District Magistrate Avnish Kumar Singh, Rishi Kund has been closed to the public from January 27 to February 6 to facilitate preparations for the CM’s visit. Development work is being carried out during this period. As part of the security measures, the entire area has been turned into a police cantonment, and local shopkeepers have been instructed to close their businesses temporarily. The site will be reopened to the public after February 6.

Focus on Development and Public Engagement

The CM’s itinerary includes a visit to Tarapur and the district headquarters, where he will review progress on the ring road project and other ongoing development schemes. He will interact with villagers and inspect infrastructure projects, including those related to water conservation, environmental sustainability, education, and public health.

Stalls showcasing government welfare initiatives will be set up, and financial aid under various schemes will be distributed. Kumar will also visit schools, inspect Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) projects, and review other developmental works.

Among the key highlights of his visit will be the inauguration of the Model Hospital and the Raja Rani Talab beautification project. He is also expected to lay the foundation stone for multiple projects across the district.

The district administration has confirmed that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared for the development of Rishi Kund, expressing optimism about its successful execution.
