Bihar: Darbhanga to Delhi Amrit Bharat Express Filled to Capacity on Day One

Darbhanga: The Amrit Bharat Express, connecting Darbhanga in Bihar to Ayodhya and Delhi, embarked on its maiden journey on the first day of the new year, Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had flagged off the train from Ayodhya to Darbhanga on December 30, 2023.

Departing from Darbhanga Junction at 3 PM, the entire train witnessed a robust turnout, with all seats occupied. The train comprises 11 sleeper class coaches, nine general class coaches, and two SLRD coaches.

It’s noteworthy that PM Modi had ceremoniously inaugurated the Amrit Bharat Express in Ayodhya for Darbhanga on December 30. The train is scheduled to run twice a week, departing from Darbhanga on Mondays and Thursdays, and from Anand Vihar on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The train received an enthusiastic reception in Sitamarhi, a holy place associated with Mata Sita. Rajesh Kumar Sundarkar, the district president of the Central Railway Passengers Union and the Confederation of All India Traders, led the warm welcome for the Amrit Bharat Express.
