Bihar Day Marked With Water Conservation Drive at Bihar Agricultural University

Sabour: Students from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) took part in an event at Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, on Saturday, coinciding with Bihar Diwas and World Water Day. The programme, chaired by Dr. Mukesh Kumar Sinha, Principal of Bihar Agricultural College, focused on the importance of water conservation and sustainable development.

Dr. D. R. Singh, Vice Chancellor of BAU, highlighted Bihar’s historical legacy of education and spirituality, stating, “The land of Bihar has been a centre of knowledge since ancient times. We, as Biharis, continue to tread the path of sustainable environmental development.”

NCC officer Colonel Sanjay Pandey addressed students on the role of discipline and social responsibility in nation-building. The college principal also spoke about the contributions of NCC and NSS in community service and stressed the importance of water conservation.

As part of the initiative, a tree plantation drive was conducted near the NCC office, underscoring the environmental benefits of afforestation. The programme was coordinated by Lieutenant Dr. Saurabh Kumar Chaudhary, NCC officer of BAU.
