Bihar Floor Test: Four MLAs Miss JDU Meeting; Congress MLA from Hyderabad Arrives in Patna
Patna: Political corridors in Patna are abuzz with tension as the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in Bihar gears up for a crucial floor test on Monday. Against the backdrop of escalating political uncertainties, a pivotal meeting of Janata Dal United (JDU) MLAs has been convened at the residence of Nitish’s confidante and minister, Vijay Chaudhary. Present at the gathering is Chief Minister Nitish himself.
Sources indicate that the MLAs have been administered an oath during the meeting, which has drawn attention as four legislators are notably absent. Bima Bharti, Sanjeev Singh, Dilip Rai, and Sudarshan have been missing from recent official engagements, including a banquet organized at Minister Shravan Kumar’s bungalow on Saturday. Attempts to reach Rupauli MLA Bima Bharti have proven futile as her mobile phone remains switched off.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs, who had been accommodated at a hotel in Gaya for the past two days, have now arrived in Patna via three buses. These legislators are set to stay at the residence of Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, with Bihar’s in-charge, Vinod Tawde, accompanying them.
In the run-up to tomorrow’s pivotal floor test, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to virtual means to address a workshop attended by BJP MLAs in Gaya. While three BJP legislators initially missed the camp, two of them managed to join the bus convoy bound for Patna. Only Rashmi Verma remains absent from the proceedings.
