Bihta Airport: The Future Alternative to Patna Airport
Bihta Airport, located about 40 km west of Patna, is being developed as an alternative to Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in the state capital. Due to space constraints at Patna Airport, Bihta is expected to handle a significant portion of air traffic in the future, easing congestion and facilitating larger aircraft operations.
The expansion of Bihta Airport has been a long-standing demand, with the Indian Air Force currently operating the existing airstrip. The new terminal and upgraded facilities will pave the way for full-fledged commercial operations, boosting connectivity and economic growth in Bihar.
