Bihar Government Announces Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle; Mihir Kumar Singh Appointed Chief Enquiry Commissioner

Patna: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, Mihir Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Panchayati Raj Department, has been appointed as the Chief Enquiry Commissioner. A 1993 batch IAS officer, Singh already holds multiple roles, including Director of Mines and Geology Corporation, Managing Director of Mining Development Corporation Limited, and State Mining Corporation Limited.

Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, a 2002 batch IAS officer, will continue to hold the additional charge of Secretary, Transport Department, alongside his role as Secretary, Agriculture Department.

Finance Expenditure Secretary Deepak Anand has been transferred to the Labor Resources Department as Secretary. Anand, a 2007 batch IAS officer, will take over his new role immediately. Meanwhile, Dr. Ashima Jain, the Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department, has been named the new Finance Expenditure Secretary. A 2008 batch IAS officer, Dr. Jain will also assume the additional charge of Enquiry Commissioner of the General Administration Department.

Kartikeya Dhanji, State Project Director of the Bihar Education Project Council, has been given the additional responsibility of Enquiry Commissioner of the General Administration Department. Dhanji, a 2008 batch IAS officer, also serves as the Managing Director of Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.

Home Secretary Pranav Kumar has been assigned additional duties as the Enquiry Commissioner of the General Administration Department. Kumar, who also holds the additional charge of Jail Inspector General, is a 2008 batch IAS officer.

In another key appointment, Laxman Tiwari, Information System Director of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, has been made Chapra Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO). The reshuffle marks a strategic move by the Bihar government to enhance administrative efficiency across various departments.
