Bihar Government Launches New Tourism Website Offering One-Click Access to 165 Major Destinations

The Government of Bihar unveils interactive tourism website with details of 165 destinations, circuits, and schemes.

Patna: Tourists planning a visit to Bihar can now access comprehensive travel information with a single click, thanks to the launch of a new state tourism website—www.tourism.bihar.gov.in.

Tourism Minister Raju Kumar Singh inaugurated the redesigned portal on Tuesday at the Tourism Directorate Auditorium, located in the Chief Secretariat. The site features information in both Hindi and English and offers resources tailored for tourists, researchers, and stakeholders in the tourism industry.

Key features of the website include detailed information on 165 prominent tourist spots across the state, complete with maps, historical context, and visitor amenities. A notable addition is the integration of Geovisor, a downloadable tool that allows users to explore destinations virtually and plan their travel routes efficiently.

Minister Raju Kumar Singh said the platform will soon support online submission of applications for various schemes, including the Bihar Tourism Policy and the Chief Minister Homestay Bed & Breakfast Promotion Scheme. Provisions for hotel and tour operator recognition will also be digitised. A mobile app is currently in development to complement the website’s services.

Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh highlighted that public suggestions will be welcomed through the website. The platform also offers in-depth coverage of Bihar’s major tourist circuits such as the Buddha, Jain, Sikh, Ramayana, Eco, Sufi, and Gandhi circuits. Each listing provides insights into the site’s historical and religious importance as well as available facilities.

Additionally, the website features an updated calendar of annual tourism events, a directory of certified tourist guides, recognised tour operators, and accommodation options—empowering visitors to plan their trips with confidence.
