Bihar Governor Launches Fantasy Novel By 13-Year-Old Author Aarav Srivastava

Patna: In a ceremony marked by celebration and literary promise, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Sunday launched The Enveloped – Mystery of Dark Power, a fantasy novel penned by 13-year-old Aarav Srivastava, an eighth-grade student from Patna.
The launch took place at Raj Bhavan’s Darbar Hall, where the Governor praised the young author’s achievement as “highly commendable,” calling it a sign of his early awakening of consciousness. “I see this book as the rise of Aarav’s consciousness at a young age,” said Khan, drawing parallels between Aarav’s precocity and that of historic figures like Adi Shankaracharya.
The book, a fictional tale steeped in themes of supernatural power and moral struggle, tells the story of two brothers, Ron and Henry, who stumble upon a mysterious weapon on their mother’s 50th birthday. The object grants them unimaginable power and responsibility, setting them on a journey through a world besieged by dark forces. The Governor noted the novel’s message—that goodness may be challenged but ultimately prevails—as “always relevant.”
Aarav’s debut work blends imagination with moral clarity, a hallmark, the Governor said, of powerful storytelling. “Words have immense potential,” he remarked, adding that mastery in writing requires deep reading and introspection.
The event also acknowledged the support network behind Aarav’s creative development, with the Governor commending his parents, Ananya and Pranav Kumar, and especially his grandfather Rajiv Ranjan Verma, for recognising his talent and nurturing it.
Calling storytelling the “most powerful medium” to convey ideas, Khan urged the young writer to remain sensitive and responsible in his words. “While writing, keep in mind that your words should not hurt anyone,” he advised.
The Governor also said Aarav may be eligible for a record as one of the youngest novelists in the fantasy genre and encouraged Bihar’s educational institutions to take pride in such talent. “Aarav’s creativity energises the academic environment of Bihar,” he said.
Also present at the ceremony were Principal Secretary Robert L Chongthu, retired IPS officer Rajiv Ranjan Verma, and retired IAS officer Vijay Prakash.
