Bihar Launches First-Ever Land Helpline to Streamline Revenue Services

Patna: In a significant move to simplify land-related issues for its citizens, Bihar’s Revenue and Land Reforms Department has inaugurated the state’s first-ever toll-free helpline center (18003456215). This pioneering initiative aims to provide information on land documents, departmental schemes, and complaint resolution all through a single contact number. Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Sanjay Saraogi officially launched the center on Sunday at the CSC office in Danapur, Patna.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Minister Saraogi announced that the helpline will become operational for the general public from June 3, providing services from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. He emphasized that the call center’s primary goal is to deliver crucial revenue and land-related information directly to rural and remote citizens, ensuring their complaints are addressed promptly without the need for physical visits to government offices. Saraogi hailed this as a crucial step towards achieving the Bihar government’s digital mission at the grassroots level.
Simplifying Complex Land Matters
Deepak Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department, acknowledged that revenue and land reform subjects can be complex for common people. However, he expressed confidence that the helpline, staffed by trained call agents, will simplify these processes for citizens. He noted that the need for such a call center had been felt for a long time.
Department Secretary Jai Singh underscored the helpline’s role as a vital communication bridge between the government and the public. He stressed that schemes can only be effective if information reaches every individual. He also highlighted that collaboration with CSC (Common Service Centers) will enhance the transparency, accessibility, and accountability of these services. Santosh Tiwari, State Head of CSC Bihar, added that the CSC network’s reach into every panchayat will transform the helpline into more than just an information center, making it a platform for civil rights and digital awareness.
