Bihar: Mahatma Gandhi Central University Scholar Roushan Kumar Secures Prestigious ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship
MOTIHARI – Roushan Kumar, a research scholar at Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU), has been selected for a doctoral fellowship with serial number ICSSR-DF-2023-2634. The doctoral fellowship is awarded to selected Indian scholars from recognized universities by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
This scholarship, provided by ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research), aims to support eligible researchers in advancing and completing their doctoral research in any social science subject.
Kumar, a scholar in the Commerce Department, is conducting his research under the guidance of Dr. Shivendra Singh. The title of his research is “Role of Jeevika (Livelihood) in Women Empowerment: A Study in the Context of East and West Champaran Districts of Bihar.” Kumar attributes his success to his research director, department heads, and all the professors in the Commerce Department.
Dr. Shivendra Singh, the research director, expressed appreciation for Kumar’s achievement, highlighting the pride the entire university feels for the success of the Commerce Department. He mentioned that the ICSSR fellowship provides financial assistance for pursuing a full-time Ph.D. degree in social sciences.
The department chairman, Prof. Shirish Mishra, and branch coordinator, Prof. Subrat Roy, along with assistant professor Avanish Kumar and Dr. Ravi Chandra Verma, expressed joy and congratulated Kumar on this significant achievement.
