Bihar: Nawada Police Busts Cyber Crime Ring, Arrests 10 Fraudsters
NAWADA – Nawada, known for cyber criminals, witnessed another crackdown as the police successfully arrested 10 individuals involved in cyber fraud. The raid, led by SDPO Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary in Warisaliganj police station, also resulted in the seizure of 13 mobile phones containing customer numbers, names, and addresses.
SDPO Choudhary revealed that the arrested cyber criminals operated from Mosima village, orchestrating fraud under the guise of various companies. The modus operandi involved the perpetrators gathering in the garden, making calls to unsuspecting customers, and deceiving them with promises related to houses, chimney kilns, petrol pumps, as well as posing as representatives of Bajaj Finance and Reliance Finance.
The fraudsters targeted individuals from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal, Punjab, Delhi, and Bihar on a significant scale.
The arrested individuals include
Dharamveer Kumar, son of Dinesh Prasad from Masuda village,
Suraj Kumar, son of Vijay Mahato,
Roshan Kumar, son of Upendra Mistry,
Pawan Kumar, son of Nandlal Chaudhary,
Kundan Kumar, son of Nandlal Mistry,
Chhotu Kumar, son of Shambhu Prasad,
and Rajaram Choudhary, son of Rajkumar Choudhary.
However, several other cyber criminals managed to evade arrest at the scene. Simultaneously, the hideout of the criminals in Baghar, Mosima village, was raided, leading to the apprehension of Mahesh Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, and Sanjeet Kumar.
Notably, Nawada Police has made significant strides in curbing cybercrime, with over 20 arrests within the past three days.
