PATNA – Police has arrested Ranjan Yadav, a relative of Lalu Yadav, in connection with the brutal attack on Municipal Council Executive Officer Arvind Kumar Singh. The incident took place during a birthday party at Tanuj Yadav’s residence, where a heated argument with builder Manish Kumar escalated, leading to the assault on Arvind Kumar Singh.

City SP West Rajesh Kumar revealed that the dispute originated from a prior conflict between Nayan Yadav, son of Nagendra Yadav (Lalu’s nephew), and builder Manish Kumar. The disagreement reached its peak during the birthday celebration at Tanuj Yadav’s house, where Ranjan Yadav was also present.

The situation intensified when Executive Officer Arvind Kumar Singh clashed with Nagendra Yadav’s son over an undisclosed issue, resulting in a fatal attack on Singh. The Rupaspur police station promptly responded to the incident, initiating an investigation.

Family members of Arvind Kumar Singh have filed a case of assault against Tanuj Yadav, Nayan Yadav, Ranjan Yadav, and others. Ranjan Yadav has been arrested, while police continue to conduct raids to apprehend Tanuj Yadav and Nayan Yadav.

Meanwhile, Ranjan Yadav has counter-filed a case against builder Manish Kumar and three others. The incident has prompted late-night registrations of cases against Lalu’s grandsons, Tanuj and Nayan Yadav, adding a political dimension to the ongoing investigation.

Arvind Kumar Singh, critically injured in the attack, has been referred to Delhi for advanced medical treatment. The assault reportedly involved a gunpoint threat and severe physical beating. Lalu Yadav’s grandson, Tanuj Yadav, allegedly identified himself during the attack and issued a menacing warning.

Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has assured swift action, stating that no one, including family members or relatives, will be spared if found guilty. However, the incident has sparked criticism from the BJP, with accusations of the return of ‘Jungle Raj Part-3’ in Bihar.

Arvind Kumar Singh’s brother, Vijay Singh, recounted the harrowing incident, highlighting attempts at robbery during the attack. He identified Tanuj Yadav as one of the assailants who repeatedly mentioned his association with Lalu Yadav and dared the family to take any action.

The police are pursuing the remaining suspects, Tanuj Yadav and Nayan Yadav, as the incident raises concerns about law and order in Bihar. Opposition leaders and Union Minister Nityanand Rai have condemned the incident, labeling it as ‘Gundaraj Part-3’ and demanding accountability from the administration.
