Bihar Plans Tie-Up With Bhubaneswar’s SDI to Train 2,000 Youth

Patna: Bihar is set to collaborate with the Skill Development Institute (SDI) in Bhubaneswar to train and provide employment opportunities for 2,000 youth from the state. Deepak Anand, Secretary of the Labour Resources Department and CEO of Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM), visited SDI Bhubaneswar, where he met with its CEO, Ranjan Bhowmik, and toured the Centre of Excellence established by Indian Oil Corporation.

The Bihar government is working towards finalising a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SDI to offer industry-specific training through 28 skill development courses. The initiative aims to equip young job seekers with relevant skills and enhance their employability.
Anand said the collaboration would play a key role in linking Bihar’s workforce with better job prospects. BSDM, he added, remains committed to upgrading skill sets in line with market demands.

The state government has been ramping up efforts to promote skill development and create employment opportunities. The proposed partnership with SDI is expected to be a major step towards providing structured training and opening new career avenues for Bihar’s youth.
