Bihar Political Leaders Unite in Praise as Indian Army Strikes Back After Pahalgam Attack

Patna: Leaders across the political spectrum in Bihar have hailed the Indian Army’s reported cross-border strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, described in media reports as a response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

The operation, reportedly code-named Operation Sindoor, was carried out late on Tuesday night and is said to have targeted multiple hideouts of the Pakistan-based terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. According to initial media reports, as many as nine terrorist bases were destroyed in the airstrikes.

While official confirmation of the operation remains pending, political leaders in Bihar were quick to voice strong support for the armed forces and the government’s actions.

Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), offered unequivocal backing: “India, Indians and the Indian Army have never tolerated terrorism and separatism, nor will we ever. The Indian Army has always protected the wombs of mothers, the wrists of sisters, and the vermilion on their foreheads,” he wrote. “We believe in truth, non-violence and peace, but if anyone threatens our unity and sovereignty, 140 crore Indians stand with the Army and the government.”

Deputy CM Vijay Sinha posted on X: “When the Pahalgam attack happened, it was decided that day that Pakistani terrorists would not be spared. Today, under Operation Sindoor, India has dealt a strong blow to the hideouts of nine terrorists hiding in Pakistan and POK. This is the answer of the 56-inch chest! Jai Bharat! Jai Hind!”

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also expressed pride, posting, “Indian Army is our life, our pride! Vande Mataram!”

Chirag Paswan, president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), a key ally in the NDA, echoed the sentiment with a patriotic salute: “Satyamev Jayate! Jai Hind’s army.”

The rare moment of cross-party consensus underscored the gravity of the situation and the unifying sentiment of national security, even amid a politically polarised landscape.
