Bihar Records 14.5% GDP Growth, Per Capita Income Surges to Rs 66,828
Patna: Bihar has witnessed significant economic development over the past year, leading to a substantial rise in both per capita income and the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
According to a recent report by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, the per capita income in Bihar at current prices increased from Rs 59,244 in 2022-23 to Rs 66,828 in 2023-24, marking an increase of Rs 7,584 within just one year.
The report highlights that the per capita income at constant prices has also seen an upward trend. In 2022-23, it stood at Rs 33,763, which increased to Rs 36,333 in 2023-24, reflecting a rise of Rs 2,570. This growth underscores Bihar’s efforts to improve economic conditions for its citizens despite various challenges.
Bihar’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) also experienced remarkable growth, surging by 14.5 percent. In 2023-24, the GSDP at current prices reached Rs 8,54,429 crore, compared to Rs 7,46,417 crore the previous year. At constant prices, Bihar’s GSDP increased by 9.2 percent, reaching Rs 4,64,540 crore, up from Rs 4,25,384 crore in 2022-23.
