Bihar Showcases Investment Potential at Ambassadors’ Meet in New Delhi

New Delhi: The Bihar Business Connect 2024 – Ambassadors’ Meet, organized by the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, concluded successfully at the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi. The high-profile event served as a precursor to the upcoming Global Investors’ Summit 2024, scheduled for December 19- 20 in Patna, and highlighted Bihar’s strategic initiatives, reforms, and investment opportunities to an international audience.

Prominent Leadership and Participation

The event was inaugurated by Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, Samrat Choudhary, alongside Industries and Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, and Industries Secretary Bandana Preyashi. The meet attracted ambassadors and delegations from nations including the US, Russia, and Japan, as well as representatives from leading business organizations such as the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, US-India Business Council, and UK-India Business Council.

In his keynote address, Choudhary underscored Bihar’s progress in fostering industrial development and sustainable growth. “Bihar is a pioneer in creating a business-friendly environment where strategic policies align with the vision of inclusive growth. We are committed to promoting economic prosperity and forging global partnerships,” he said.

Minister Nitish Mishra highlighted the state’s potential across key sectors, stating, “Bihar offers unique opportunities in food processing, renewable energy, and infrastructure. Platforms like the Ambassadors’ Meet are instrumental in fostering collaborations that position Bihar as a hub of innovation and investment.”

Showcasing Bihar’s Business Potential

The event featured presentations by departmental secretaries from IT, Labour, and Energy, who outlined Bihar’s Ease of Doing Business initiatives and sector-specific growth strategies. Interactive discussions with foreign delegations and industry leaders explored avenues for expanding business ties, fostering bilateral cooperation, and leveraging global expertise to accelerate Bihar’s industrial growth.

Once an investor chooses Bihar for their industrial venture, they often expand their presence. A prime example is Britannia, which, after setting up its initial unit in the state, decided to establish a second one. Notably, Bihar is the only location where Britannia has multiple units,” said Industries Secretary Bandana Preyashi.

The Ambassadors’ Meet underscored Bihar’s commitment to sustainable industrial development, promoting its investor-friendly policies and innovative growth vision. It also set the stage for the Global Investors’ Summit 2024, solidifying the state’s reputation as an emerging destination for global business and investment.

With a focus on inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation, Bihar’s progressive approach aims to attract international stakeholders and drive long-term economic prosperity for the state.
