Bihar: Teenager Drowns While Bathing with Friends in the Gandak River; Rescue Team Recovers Bag and Clothes
Hajipur: One of three teenagers who went to bathe in the Gandak River at Mahadev Ghat in the Lal Ganj Basanta Jahanabad area of Vaishali district has drowned.
Local residents alerted Dial 112 and the boy’s relatives about the incident. The police were subsequently notified and informed the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) team. The SDRF team arrived at the scene and began searching for the teenager’s body.
The deceased has been identified as Ayush Kumar, a 14-year-old ninth-grade student and the son of Alok Kumar Singh, a resident of Pakdi Gaon in the Kareji Muja area of Belsar police station.
Ayush had been regularly attending school for several days and, after school, went to bathe in the Gandak River. Today, he went to the river with two friends, where he drowned while bathing.
The two other boys with Ayush were seen running away from the spot, but villagers managed to catch one of them. This boy informed the villagers about the incident. Upon receiving this information, the villagers reached the spot where Ayush Kumar’s bag and clothes were found.
Dial 112 worker Rinki Kumari stated that the search for Ayush’s body is ongoing.
