Bihar to Build New Bridge on Kiul River for Better Travel in Lakhisarai

Bihar government has approved a Bailey bridge on the Kiul river to improve connectivity and help emergency services in Lakhisarai

Lakhisarai: The Bihar government has given a big gift to Lakhisarai district by approving the construction of a new Bailey bridge on the Kiul river. This bridge will cost around Rs 26.60 crore. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Samrat Choudhary said that the bridge will replace the old railway bridge and improve road connectivity between Kiul and Lakhisarai.

The new bridge will be 9×45.72 metres long with a carriageway width of 4.25 metres and a projection of 1.5 metres on both sides. It will serve as an alternative route to the railway bridge, making it easier for people to travel and also help in emergency services. A team of technical experts inspected the old bridge and confirmed that installing the Bailey bridge on its foundation is possible.

Local people are happy with this decision. They have been demanding this bridge for a long time to make travel easier for passengers and traders. Direct connectivity will save time and improve business in the area.

Apart from the bridge, the government has approved two road projects in Suryagarha block of Lakhisarai district. Roads from Sadh Baba Sthan to Baiju Sthan and from Bariyarpur Gopalpuri to Konipar PWD Road will be built, covering 10.85 km at a cost of Rs 19.08 crore. These roads were announced earlier by Union Minister and local MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh during his Jan Samvad programme and will help boost trade and social development in rural areas.
