Patna: The Bihar government has approved Rs 668 crore to improve roads and bridges in 11 districts. Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin said this step will make travel easier, safer, and faster for people across the state.
Under this plan, over 110 km of roads will be widened and strengthened. Bridges and access roads will also be built to improve connectivity. The minister said these projects will help farmers take their produce to markets quickly and make daily life better for people living in these areas.
Some major projects include a bridge over the Kamla Balan river in Madhubani district at a cost of Rs 154 crore, a bypass in Nawada district to reduce traffic jams, and road widening works in Katihar, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Gopalganj, and Motihari districts. In Bettiah, a 14 km road and bridge will connect many villages and boost local business.
The minister added that by 2027, the state government aims to connect every district to Patna within three and a half hours. He said these projects will change the face of Bihar’s roads and help people reach schools, hospitals, markets, and offices more easily.
