Bihar to Develop Three Eco-Tourism Hubs in Rohtas: Env Minister
Patna: The Bihar government is set to develop Tutla Bhawani, Gupta Dham, and Manjhar Kund in Rohtas district as eco-tourism hubs, Forest and Environment Minister Prem Kumar announced on Friday.
The sites, located in the Kaimur hills, will be transformed into eco-friendly tourist destinations, with infrastructure and amenities aimed at attracting visitors while preserving the region’s natural beauty.
Investment and Infrastructure Plans
The minister highlighted that the state government has already undertaken several projects to promote eco-tourism at Tutla Bhawani, with further expansion planned.
For Gupta Dham, a site known for its religious significance and scenic landscape, the government has allocated Rs 1 crore for development. Given its challenging terrain, a special eco-friendly all-weather road will be built to improve accessibility, as constructing a traditional paved road is not feasible.
Manjhar Kund, a popular monsoon tourist attraction, will see improvements in basic infrastructure, including hotels, drinking water facilities, toilets, and other amenities, to enhance the visitor experience.
Boost to Local Employment
Minister Prem Kumar emphasized that Rohtas district holds vast tourism potential, and the government’s initiative will create thousands of local employment opportunities, reducing migration for work.
The Nitish Kumar-led government has been actively working to boost Bihar’s tourism sector, with plans to develop multiple districts into tourism hubs in the coming years.
