Bihar to Give Rs 1 Lakh Incentive to General Category Women Clearing Civil Services Prelims

General category women from economically weaker sections who pass the 2025 UPSC prelims will receive Rs 1 lakh as an incentive under a new Bihar government scheme.

Patna: The Bihar government has approved a scheme to provide an incentive amount of Rs 1 lakh to women from general category economically weaker sections who clear the Civil Services Preliminary Examination in 2025.

The cabinet approved the decision on Tuesday to encourage more female candidates to pursue civil services. The incentive will also be available to Divyangjan candidates. Applicants must be permanent residents of Bihar and should not belong to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe or Extremely Backward Class categories.

Eligible candidates must apply online through the Women and Child Development Corporation website between June 26 and July 25. Required documents include a photo, signature, self-attested copy of the admit card, Aadhaar card, residential certificate, bank passbook seeded with Aadhaar, and a cancelled cheque. Candidates must also submit an affidavit stating they are not currently employed in any government or public sector job and have not received such benefits before.

The scheme can only be availed once. Any candidate found submitting false information to obtain funds will face legal action.
