Bihar Tourism Gains Global Attention at World Travel Market, London
Patna: Bihar’s tourism sector drew international tourists’ interest during a three-day showcase at the World Travel Market in London. On the event’s final day on Wednesday, Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh, Tourism Director Vinay Kumar Rai, and General Manager of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC), Abhijeet Kumar, provided comprehensive insights into Bihar’s tourism offerings to visitors from various parts of the United Kingdom.
A statement issued by BSTDC on Wednesday evening stated that the presentation encompassed a wide array of tourist amenities, ranging from religious and spiritual destinations to eco-tourism circuits. Bihar has seen an influx of tourists from around the world, and the delegation aimed to highlight the state’s attractions in London. Over the past three days, a significant number of global tourists flocked to the Bihar Pavilion of Incredible India, where they received warm greetings and souvenirs symbolizing Bihar’s rich heritage, including exquisite Madhubani paintings and the iconic Mahabodhi tree.
As part of the strategic plan to bolster tourism, a meeting has been organized on Thursday with the UK chapter of Bihar Foundation in London. During this event, Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh will conduct a presentation on Bihar’s tourism prospects, featuring informative multimedia presentations about Bihar’s tourist destinations. The gathering will be graced by the presence of House of Commons MP Seema Malhotra, MP Virendra Sharma, along with Lord Rami Rengar of the House of Lords, and former Mayor Southarch Sunil Chopra, in addition to Bihar Foundation officials.
The program will also showcase cultural performances related to Chhath Puja by the children of the Bihari community residing in Britain, adding a touch of home to the event.
