Bihar Tourism to Get Brand Ambassador and New Promotional Strategies Under Approved Policy
Patna: Bihar’s tourism sector is set for a significant transformation with the approval of the Bihar Tourism Branding and Marketing Policy 2024 by the State Council of Ministers. This new policy aims to enhance the state’s tourism profile both nationally and internationally, making Bihar a prominent destination for spiritual, cultural, and natural tourism.
The Tourism Department is ramping up efforts to develop infrastructure and create new tourist attractions. The newly approved policy will now guide the strategic branding and marketing initiatives for Bihar tourism.
Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra outlined the vision of the policy, emphasizing its goal to position Bihar as a premier destination. “Our objective is to showcase Bihar’s rich spiritual, cultural, and natural heritage more effectively. We will appoint a brand ambassador, create a tourism song, and leverage social media influencers to elevate our tourism branding,” Mishra said.
The policy includes several innovative components:
Brand Ambassador and Tourism Song: Bihar will appoint a brand ambassador and produce a tourism song to enhance its visibility. The song will be performed by prominent personalities associated with Bihar.
Visual and Audio Materials: The policy will focus on researching and highlighting Bihar’s lesser-known tourist spots. Expert agencies will be engaged to create compelling visual and audio content to attract tourists.
Logo and Digital Presence: A distinctive logo for Bihar tourism will be designed, and various digital platforms, including a dedicated website and web portal, will be used for promotion and visitor convenience.
Competitions and Engagement: Various competitions, such as script writing, reel making, photography, quiz contests, and car-bike rallies, will be organized to engage the public and promote Bihar’s tourism.
The policy also plans to utilize new technology for marketing and promotion. High-quality materials will be developed for social media and digital platforms to make information about Bihar’s tourism accessible and engaging.
Minister Mishra highlighted, “We will incorporate new technologies and diverse promotional strategies to reach a wider audience. Our aim is to make Bihar a go-to destination for tourists through innovative and effective branding efforts.”
The implementation of this policy is expected to significantly boost Bihar’s tourism sector, making it a key player in the national and international travel markets.
