Bihar: Vistara Flight Diverted to Indore Amid Dense Fog, Passengers Stranded

Vistara Flight Grounded at Patna Airport; Passengers Rerouted as Technical Team Arrives from Mumbai

PATNA – Vistara flight UK 716, en route from Patna to Delhi on Wednesday evening, faced an unexpected diversion, landing in Indore instead of its intended destination. Departing at 7:45 pm, the flight, carrying 180 passengers, including notable figures like former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Rajya Sabha MP AD Singh, MP Giridhari Yadav, former MP Vashishtha Narayan Singh, and Akhilesh Singh, son of the State Congress President, faced challenges due to dense fog in Delhi.

The diversion occurred at 10:15 pm as the pilot, lacking experience in landing in low visibility conditions, chose to land in Indore instead of Delhi. The passengers, including prominent personalities, found themselves grounded with uncertainty about the resumption of their journey. Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad reported being stuck in Indore for approximately 80 minutes, expressing uncertainty about the departure time.

Meanwhile, the adverse weather conditions also affected the schedules of other flights operating from Patna. Spicejet flight SG 7621 destined for Delhi faced the longest delay, being postponed by five and a half hours at 5 pm. Air India’s Delhi flight AI 407 experienced a delay of four and a half hours, landing at 7 pm. Additionally, IndiGo’s Lucknow flight 6E 6902 arrived four hours behind schedule at 2:30 pm, while Air India’s Delhi flight AI 415 was delayed by two and a quarter hours, landing at 8:15 pm.
