Bihar: Ward-43 Residents Benefit from ‘Cleanliness is Service’ Program in Patna Slums
PATNA: In collaboration with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institute, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, and Pothi-Patri Foundation, Patna, a cleanliness awareness campaign was conducted in Ward-43, Road No. 7, Rajendra Nagar, Patliputra Industrial Area, Patna, on October 27, 2023. This initiative was orchestrated under the banner of the ‘Cleanliness is Service’ program.
Pradeep Kumar, the Director of the institute, provided guidance for the cleanliness campaign. Event coordinators, including Sanjeev Azad, Assistant Director, emphasized the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in slum areas, educating residents on maintaining cleanliness to prevent diseases.
Richa Jha, Coordinator of Pothi-Patri Foundation, shared information with women about the diseases caused by unclean surroundings and how to protect themselves by maintaining cleanliness. Ward Councilor Ranjana Sinha and Manoj Kumar also attended the event.
During the campaign, slum residents were provided with dustbins and essential cleanliness items such as masks, hand wash, and hygiene-related materials. The Pothi-Patri Foundation, along with other volunteers, actively participated in this initiative.
The office staff, led by Jitendra Kumar, contributed their support to make the campaign successful.
