Bihar Weather Update: Temperature Set to Rise, Light Rain Likely in Some Districts

Patna: After a brief respite from the heat due to cloudy skies and scattered rainfall, temperatures across Bihar are expected to rise again. The state experienced light showers accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas, leading to a drop in temperature. However, the Meteorological Center in Patna has forecasted a gradual increase in temperature in the coming days.

Temperature Set to Rise

According to the weather department, the impact of westerly winds will make the weather dry, leading to a three to four-degree rise in maximum temperature over the next three to four days. Additionally, the minimum temperature is also expected to increase by one to three degrees within the next three days.

Rainfall in the Last 24 Hours

Several northern parts of Bihar recorded light rain in the last 24 hours. However, in some regions, the maximum temperature rose by two to five degrees, while in others, it remained normal.

Temperature Trends in the Capital

On Sunday, Patna’s maximum temperature rose by 2.3 degrees above normal, reaching 31.8°C. Gopalganj recorded the highest temperature in the state at 34.1°C. However, 25 districts, including Patna, witnessed a drop in maximum temperature.

As per the Meteorological Department, light rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in the following districts over the next 24 hours:

  • Araria
  • Purnia
  • Katihar
  • Bhagalpur
  • Banka
  • Madhepura

Several major cities, including Patna, recorded a decline in maximum temperatures over the past 24 hours:

  • Aurangabad: Down by 2.3°C
  • Gaya: Down by 1.6°C
  • Bhojpur: Down by 1.2°C
  • Buxar: Down by 2.7°C
  • Sasaram: Down by 1.9°C
  • Sheikhpura: Down by 0.9°C
  • Munger: Down by 0.3°C
  • Supaul: Down by 1.8°C
  • Madhubani: Down by 0.3°C
