Ara/Patna: Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader RK Singh has called for the repeal of Bihar’s liquor prohibition law. Speaking at a public meeting in Bhikham Das Mathia, Saraiya Bazar, Barhara, on Sunday, Singh claimed that the ban was harming youth rather than benefiting them.
He alleged that the police, including station in-charges, were complicit in the illegal sale of liquor, undermining the very law they were meant to enforce.
During the event, while addressing public grievances, Singh reprimanded an engineer over the phone from the stage itself, accusing him of manipulating tenders at the behest of certain MLAs. “Listen carefully, we will send you to jail,” he warned.
Singh also urged officials to take steps toward establishing a women’s college in Saraiya by coordinating with the Education Minister. Criticising the current MP’s performance, he remarked that those who helped elect him should feel ashamed rather than expect any developmental work.
