Bodhgaya Prepares for Dalai Lama’s Teachings: Robust Security Measures in Place
BODHGAYA – In anticipation of the eminent arrival of Tibetan religious leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on December 15, the Gaya Police administration has initiated comprehensive security measures to ensure a smooth and secure event. The spiritual leader is scheduled to lead a special educational program at Kalachakra Maidan, aiming to impart wisdom and guidance to his followers.
With the prospect of a substantial turnout of devotees, both from India and abroad, security forces are leaving no stone unturned. The Gaya Police is taking preemptive steps to manage the influx of foreign devotees and maintain order during the spiritual gathering.
To address the potential challenges associated with the event, Gaya SSP Ashish Bharti conducted a high-level meeting with police officials at Bodhgaya police station. The meeting, which lasted for hours, involved key personnel, including City Superintendent of Police Himanshu, Bodhgaya SDPO Saurabh Jaiswal, Bodhgaya Inspector Rajkumar, Traffic Station Head Rajesh Kumar, and other officers.
SSP Ashish Bharti emphasized the significance of flawless security arrangements, particularly given the expected presence of a considerable number of devotees. Feedback from police officials was solicited to identify any existing shortcomings, with orders issued promptly for their rectification. The security apparatus is poised to transform the entire urban area of Bodhgaya into a formidable fortress, ensuring the safety of all attendees.
In an official statement, SSP Ashish Bharti affirmed, “Security arrangements have been meticulously reviewed in light of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s imminent arrival. Any identified shortcomings are being swiftly addressed to guarantee the safety of the public during this significant event. The security posture will remain vigilant, with the entire urban area of Bodhgaya being closely monitored.”
As part of the security measures, foreign tourists staying in hotels and Buddhist monasteries are under surveillance, and the number of CCTV cameras in the area is being augmented to enhance the monitoring of potential suspects. The police administration is also taking decisive steps to prevent burglaries and bolster overall security in Bodhgaya.
