Brave Shopkeeper and Staff Thwart Armed Robbery at Bhojpur Jewelry Store
Bhojpur: A daring robbery attempt at Sharma Jewelers in Narayanpur, under Koilwar police station limits, was thwarted due to the alertness and quick thinking of the shopkeeper and his staff. Four armed criminals, who attempted to loot gold and silver jewelry worth lakhs, fled the scene after panicking when the shop staff raised an alarm.
The CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, clearly showing four masked assailants storming into the shop with weapons in hand. The criminals began stuffing jewelry into a bag while threatening customers and employees. However, before they could escape with the loot, a loud noise from outside the shop startled them, forcing them to abandon their plan. In their haste, they left the stolen jewelry behind and sped off on a bike towards Babura.
Upon receiving the alert, Koilwar police rushed to the spot and reviewed the CCTV footage to identify the suspects. Patrolling was immediately increased on the Ara-Chhapra highway to track down the fleeing criminals.
According to shop owner Surendra Sharma, the jewel thieves had nearly succeeded in their heist when his employee, Pintu Sharma, managed to escape through a back gate and alerted nearby shopkeepers. His timely action caused panic among the robbers, forcing them to abandon their plan and flee.
Following the incident, the shopkeeper filed an FIR against the unknown criminals at Koilwar police station. Station in-charge Narottam Chandra confirmed that the assailants, disguised in masks, had come well-prepared but were forced to flee due to the staff’s vigilance.
