Saharsa: A firing incident late Sunday night in New Colony, under the jurisdiction of Sadar police station, left two people injured following a dispute between children. Among the injured is a 13-year-old boy, highlighting the escalating tensions in the area.

The victims have been identified as 28-year-old Amitabh Kumar alias Tinku and 13-year-old Tanmay Raj alias Kitu, both residents of Saharsa Municipal Corporation Ward 09. They are currently undergoing treatment at a private clinic in New Colony’s Naya Bazar.

Saharsa Sadar SDPO Alok Kumar confirmed that the firing stemmed from a dispute between children. Following the incident, the accused fled the scene, and police teams are conducting raids at multiple locations to apprehend them.

According to Rahul Raj, the elder brother of Amitabh, the altercation began after a mobile phone belonging to a laborer working at Amarjeet Singh’s construction site in the locality was allegedly stolen by two youths from New Colony. Several local residents, including women, had gathered to confront the suspects when tensions escalated, resulting in gunfire.
