Building Brand Bihar: Tourism Minister Engages Social Media Influencers
Patna: Bihar’s Tourism Minister, Nitish Mishra, emphasized the state’s commitment to enhancing its tourism profile during a meeting with social media influencers on Thursday. The minister underscored the importance of leveraging social media to promote Bihar as a vibrant tourist destination, encouraging influencers including radio-video jockeys, bloggers, and vloggers to play a pivotal role in shaping the state’s image positively.
“In our efforts to build Brand Bihar, social media influencers are invaluable. Whether through radio, video, blogs, or vlogs, each of you contributes significantly to portraying Bihar’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential,” said Mishra.
The minister highlighted plans to develop comprehensive programs and policies based on suggestions received during the meeting, aiming to create a more conducive environment for tourism across Bihar. “Our goal is to ensure that every block in Bihar becomes a tourist destination, thereby enhancing the state’s appeal,” he added.
During the event, Mishra also launched episodes of Curly Tales focusing on Madhubani, expressing his pride in showcasing the cultural richness of his hometown. The episodes feature prominent attractions such as Uchaith Bhagwati Sthan, Somnath Mahadev Temple, Rajnagar Palace, Navalakha Palace, Mithila Haat, Madhubani Painting, and Mithila Chitrakala Sansthan, providing viewers with insights into Mithila’s vibrant heritage.
Tourism Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh commended the influencers for their efforts in portraying Bihar’s achievements positively. “Your role in redefining Bihar’s pride on the national stage is commendable. The tourism department stands ready to support you in every possible way,” he assured.
Nand Kishor, Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation, outlined opportunities for collaboration with influencers, offering access to the department’s extensive collection of images and videos. “We encourage you to use our resources responsibly, and in return, we offer authentic information, local guide support, and participation in our key events like TTF, Sonpur Mela, and Pitru Paksha,” he explained.
Tourism Director Vinay Kumar Rai welcomed guests to the program, while General Manager Abhijeet Kumar expressed gratitude on behalf of the department. The event saw the participation of senior officials and staff member.
The initiatives discussed aim to bolster Bihar’s tourism sector through strategic partnerships and enhanced visibility on social media platforms.
