‘Bura Na Maano, Holi Hai ‘: Tej Pratap Yadav Brushes Off Holi Frenzy Backlash

Patna: Tej Pratap Yadav, known for his flamboyant and theatrical Holi celebrations, responded to criticism over his festival antics with a poetic punch on X: ‘ (Bura na maano, Holi hai) Don’t mind, it’s Holi… This festival of mutual brotherhood has also been given a new colour of hatred by BJP and RSS along with their lapdog media… Whether it is the police brothers or the leaders of the opposition party, don’t mind, it has become their religion to do politics even when Holi festival is celebrated with brotherhood and enthusiasm. The people of the country will soon teach them a lesson.’
The elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad was seen riding a scooty without a helmet outside the Chief Minister’s residence, cheerfully greeting Nitish Kumar with a quip: “Hey Paltu Chacha, Happy Holi!” His Holi revelry at his official residence was nothing short of a Bollywood spectacle—playing with colours, tearing his kurta, singing songs, and even compelling a security officer to shake a leg, jokingly warning that refusal could lead to suspension.
A senior photographer at the event claimed to have a personal photo of Tej Pratap, leading the RJD leader to challenge him to display it. What followed was pure Holi chaos—Tej Pratap’s enthusiastic supporters allegedly tore the photographer’s pants while the leader continued singing and recording the spectacle.
As the episode made headlines, Tej Pratap remained unfazed, painting it as a political conspiracy rather than a festival faux pas. His response? A Holi classic—bura na maano, Holi hai!
